Single & Two Zone Room Over Temperature Alarm Units

Single & Two Zone Room Over Temperature Alarm Units

The OTAS has been designed to monitor critical areas for high temperature via remote thermostats. Any number of thermostats can be connected to the control unit to give a common room over temperature alarm (OTAS 1) or two zones of temperature alarm (OTAS 2). The OTAS range can also include monitoring of the interconnecting cable between the thermostats and the control unit. Any disconnection of the thermostat from the controller would instigate a “Sensor Fault” alarm. Complete with an audible warning device, mute push button, flashing 8mm red alarm lamp and 8mm Control live green lamp, on units fitted with the sensor monitoring circuit additional 8mm red (fault) /green (Normal) lamps are fitted to each zone. Once an over temperature alarm has been raised, the OTAS red “Alarm” lamp will start to flash and the audible warning device will start. The unit will remain in this condition even if the room temperature returns back to normal. Only muting the alarm will stop the sounder and de-latch the alarm. If the room temperature has returned to normal before pressing the “Mute Alarm” button the alarm lamp will extinguish indicating that the temperature is normal. However if the room is still over temperature only the audible warning will stop leaving the lamp permanently on. Only when the room has returned back to its normal temperature will the lamp extinguish. All OTAS units have a common alarm set of volt free contacts and an open collector output for onward signalling to Building Management Systems, telephone dialler or control systems. Multiple OTAS units can be interconnected to give a number of zones within one or more areas. A common alarm unit (CAU1) installed within a security, corridor or control room, can be interconnected to all OTAS units, to give a common alarm.

Features

  • Large indication LED lamps for ease of Alarm identification from a distance
  • On board audible warning device to alert local operators of a problem
  • Alarms latched until Mute operated to give indication of transient Alarms
  • Individual zone alarm relays to onward signal to a BMS
  • Lamps, relay and Horn test Facility to ensure that the unit is working correctly
  • Small foot print, wall or surface mounted
  • Optional Monitoring of each zone cable and sensor to ensure continuity and integrity

Four Zone Room Over Temperature Alarm Unit With Events History

Four Zone Room Over Temperature Alarm Unit With Events History

The OTAS4 has been designed to monitor critical areas for high temperature via remote thermostats
The unit contains an audible warning device, Mute push button, History & history Exit buttons and a back lit alphanumeric display. A non-volatile event history is included as standard to show the past 250 events. This can be used to identify sensitive areas or faulty equipment. When a high temperature is detected by one of the zones, the display will start to flash with the location, the audible warning device will start and the zone alarm relay closes. The unit will remain in this condition even if the temperature returns to normal. Muting the alarm will stop the sounder and the display flashing. If the temperature returns to normal before pressing the “Mute Alarm” button, after Muting the display will revert back to its normal state and the zone alarm relay will de-energise. However, if room temperature is still high, only the audible warning will stop leaving the location in the display and the zone alarm relay energised. Only when the room temperature returns to normal will the display revert back to its normal mode.  The OTAS4 as standard has an individual relay for each zone with a normally closed set of volt free contacts. All four relays can be used to individually onward signal to a Building Management Systems and telephone dialler or can be wired together to give a common alarm output.

Features

  • Alphanumeric display for ease of Alarm identification from a distance
  • On board audible warning device to alert local operators of a problem
  • Alarms latched until Mute operated to give indication of transient water leaks
  • Individual zone alarm relays to onward signal to a BMS or used to shutdown water valves
  • Lamps, relay and Horn test Facility to ensure that the unit is working correctly
  • Zone signal isolation to stop multiple alarms due to sensors coming into contact with Earth
  • Small size foot print, wall or surface mounted
  • Monitoring of each zone cable and sensor to ensure continuity and integrity
  • 250 Past Event History

The Temperature Sensor is tamper proof to stop inadvertent alteration of the temperature set point. The unit is electro mechanical with a range between 10 - 30°C.

Temperature & Humidity Sensor
